A young man aged between 20 and 25, who allegedly snatched a motorcycle, has narrowly escaped jungle justice.
The suspect, whose name could not be ascertained immediately, allegedly robbed an okada (commercial motorcycle) rider of his Baja motorcycle along Angus Fraser College, Makurdi, Benue State capital.
However, the okada rider raised the alarm and a group of youths ran after the suspect.
The suspect and his gang members fell from the bike and he was caught by the youths while the other two suspects escaped.
The youths immediately seized the suspect and attempted to set him ablaze using old tyres after beating him black and blue, leaving him drenched in blood.
Luckily for him, a police patrol team appeared on the scene and saved his life.
Some spectators who spoke with our correspondent at the scene said they had witnessed many cases of motorcycle snatching in the area.
